Chelsea Building Products, Inc., has one of the most modern extrusion facilities in the world, and controls every aspect of the extrusion process, from the raw materials to the finished profile. The process starts with Chelsea’s proprietary blending formulation. Developed from years of extrusion experience and millions of feet of lineal extrusion profiles, this blended formulation has stood the test of time. Our work on advanced materials and formulations, coupled with a sophisticated quality control program that includes not only raw materials and finished product inspection, but also the fabrication of parts, ensures proper fit and processing. All materials are blended in a modern state-of-the-art computerized blending facility that assures consistent high quality compound is delivered correctly to each extrusion machine.

State-of-the-Art Blending Facility:

Recognizing that the quality of the finished profile is dependant on a sophisticated raw material inspection program and a highly controlled blending operation, Chelsea developed a material certification program with each of its vendors. Raw materials are inspected, tested and certified before they enter the manufacturing process. These ingredients are introduced in to a totally computerized blending operation that measures, transfers, introduces and blends the ingredients into a time-tested proprietary formulation. Every operation is automated to ensure that the same high quality formulation is consistently delivered to each extrusion machine.

Extrusion Tooling:

Chelsea has partnered with Greiner, the leading extrusion tooling company in Europe, in developing extrusion die technology and downstream sizing equipment that is tops in the industry. Chelsea has adapted this technology to modern twin screw and dual strand extrusion lines to produce one of the highest quality lineal profiles in the world.

Dual Strand Extrusion Machines:

State-of-the-art extrusion machines allow Chelsea to produce high quality profiles efficiently to customers around the country. Combining high volume extrusion machines with steel extrusion dies and coordinated downstream sizing and cooling equipment, Chelsea is able to produce a wide range of quality vinyl window and patio door profiles, cellular foam trim profiles and custom lineal profiles.
